Dr. Tom Honey

Clinic Director, DVM

Dr. Tom Honey’s journey to veterinary medicine began growing up on a farm in Southern Ontario, where he admired the veterinarians he met. Following in the footsteps of his family, he attended the University of Guelph and became the first in his family to graduate from the Ontario Veterinary College. After graduation, he gained a broad range of experience at high-case-load facilities in Toronto before deciding to start his own practice.

In 1997, Dr. Honey moved to Squamish, BC, a place he had fallen in love with during a summer as a veterinary student. This move allowed him to pursue his passions for veterinary medicine and the outdoors. His practice philosophy is built on three pillars: educating clients on pet care, providing comprehensive medical and surgical treatments, and advocating for pets with respect, transparency, and genuine communication. His special interests are diagnostic imaging (including abdominal and cardiac ultrasound), dentistry, and feline medicine supported by a skilled team and advanced in-house laboratory capabilities.

Outside of work, Dr. Honey enjoys outdoor activities like skate skiing, cycling, and boating. He also travels for offshore sailing and ski touring. At home, he shares his life with his partner Janice, her two daughters, and their five pets: three dogs (Finley, Molly, Phoebe – shown here), a cat (Jerry), and a conure parrot (Willow).
