Give your pet the best chance of finding their way home!

From July through August, we’re offering 50% off microchipping, by appointment at our clinic, to help keep pets in our community safe and identifiable – it’s a quick, simple, and safe procedure! Alternatively, clients in our loyalty program can use 125 loyalty coins for this service through July and August!

📢 Appointments are required for microchipping – please call 604-898-9089, or book either online or through our PetPage App!

On a complimentary drop in basis, we can also read your pet’s microchip for you so that you have the information you need to update their SmartTag profile and their BC registry profile. At that time, we can also ensure their microchip is recorded in your Pet’s profile on our system so it’s available to you through our PetPage App!

Where to Register Your Pet’s Microchip for Best Results in BC

Microchipping is one of the most effective ways to ensure your pet’s safety, but registering the microchip properly is equally important!

1. Register with the Microchip Manufacturer – SmartTag

When you bring your pet in to be microchipped, we will provide you with the unique microchip number, a corresponding tag and instructions on how to register in the SmartTag database. It’s important to register your pet with the manufacturer’s database to ensure your contact details are linked to the chip. More details on the SmartTag features and how to register, can be found in this document

2. Keep Your Information Updated

The most important part of microchip registration is to ensure that your contact information is always up to date. If you change addresses, phone numbers, or even emergency contacts, be sure to update your registration with your microchip manufacturer and BC Pet Registry. Without current details, even a properly registered microchip won’t help your fur baby come home quickly.

3. Verify Your Registration

After registering your pet, it’s a good practice to have the microchip scanned during your pet’s routine check-ups to ensure it’s still active and that the information linked to it is correct. If you adopt a pet with an existing microchip, make sure to update the registration details immediately.

Also Important: License Your Pet with the District of Squamish

Microchipping is just one part of responsible pet ownership—licensing your pet with the District of Squamish is also important. A current license helps local authorities reunite lost pets faster and shows your support for animal services in our community.

To license your pet, you’ll need:

  • Proof of spay/neuter (we can provide if needed)
  • Your pet’s microchip number
  • Basic contact information

For full details, visit  https://squamish.ca. It says on the District of Squamish site that you must come in person for new registrations, however, in our experience, if you call the main line, they can transfer you to the bylaw department who can email you the registration form!
